WHEREAS, Revised Code 4931.41 provides authority for a Board of Commissioners to establish a county-wide telephone system through which emergency calls may be made utilizing the numbers “911”, and
WHEREAS, the Lake County Board of Commissioners previously implemented a county-wide Emergency 911 plan for the residents of the County in 1986, and
WHEREAS, Revised code 4931.45 provides that the Board of County Commissioners may amend its plan and in order to do so must convene a new “911 Planning Committee” (hereinafter referred to as “new 911 Committee” for the purpose of adopting an amended final plan to the county-wide 911 emergency telephone service, in accordance with Section 4931.42 et seq. of the Ohio Revised Code, and
WHEREAS, in accordance with 4931.42 and 4931.45 of the Ohio Revised Code, the 911 Committee shall be composed of five voting members, as follows:
(1) A member of the board of county commissioners, or a designee, who shall serve as chairperson of the committee; John Hamercheck
(2) The chief executive officer of the most populous municipal corporation in the county; Ken Filipiak, City of Mentor
(3) A member of the board of township trustees of the most populous township in the county as selected by majority vote of the board of trustees; Chuck HIllier, Painesville Township
(4) A member of a board of township trustees selected by the majority of boards of township trustees in the county pursuant to resolutions they adopt; Morgan McIntosh, Concord Township
(5)A member of the legislative authority of a municipal corporation in the county selected by the majority of the legislative authorities of municipal corporations in the county pursuant to resolutions they adopt; Bob Carr, Willoughby
(6)An elected official from within the county appointed by the board of county
