Election Notice
The Ohio Soil and Water Conservation Commission will cause an election of Supervisors of the Lake County Soil and Water Conservation District (SWCD) to be held in accordance with Chapter 940 of the Ohio Revised Code. Individuals who own or occupy land within the Lake County Soil and Water Conservation District and are 18 years of age or older may vote for Supervisor.
There are three (3) ways an eligible voter can cast a ballot:
1.) At the SWCD office, 105 Main Street Suite B301, Painesville OH 44077 from 9/25/2024 until 10/23/2024 during normal business hours; or
2.) At the SWCD Annual Meeting, which will take place at Lake Metroparks’ Painesville Township Park on 10/24/2024 from 6:00pm to 8:00pm ; or
3.) Voting absentee from 9/25/2024 until 10/24/2024, by requesting the ballot application and election ballot from the SWCD office at the following address 105 Main Street B301, Painesville OH 44077, by calling 440-350-2730, or email [email protected]. Solid Waste Management District Coordinator Solid Waste Division Director Lake County Department of Utilities Phone: (440) 350-2908 Email: [email protected] PUBLIC NOTICE LAKE COUNTY, OH, July 15, 2024 thru August 14, 2024 – The Lake County Solid Waste Management District Policy Committee has completed the update of the District’s 15-year Solid Waste Management Plan. The Plan Update has been developed to meet HB592 requirements for solid waste planning for the Lake County District. The official planning period of the Plan Update is from January 1, 2025 through December 31, 2040. The Policy Committee welcomes input from the public during the comment period which is herein established from July 15, 2024 through August 14, 2024. The final draft of the District Waste Management Plan will be available at the following locations for public review and comment during the comment period: 1. Office of Lake County Commissioners, Administration Center 105 Main Street Painesville, OH 44077 2. Lake County municipal and township offices 3. Lake County Public Libraries 4. https://www.lakecountyohio.gov/utilities/solid-waste-management-district The purpose of the Plan is to ensure that the District has at least 15 years of acceptable solid waste disposal capacity; to provide strategies for reducing solid waste that is landfilled by at least 25% for the residential and commercial sector, and to develop strategies of managing wastes that will be prohibited from disposal in landfills in the future. There is sufficient disposal capacity at the Lake County Solid Waste Facility for the management of all solid waste generated within the District throughout the planning period. The final draft Plan update contains and/or makes provisions for: Assistance to communities to secure competitive solid waste and recycling bids for collection services. A pilot program for recycling for multi-family locations throughout the County. Drop-off recycling at the Lake County Solid Waste Facility. An expanded informational and education program conducted by OSU Extension, Lake County. Collections of household hazardous waste, waste tire, and old electronics. Budgets for the District programs will be funded through the tier fees levied on waste delivered to the Lake County Solid Waste Facility and revenue from landfill tipping fees. NOTICE OF PUBLIC HEARING NOTICE IS HEREBY GIVEN that on August 3, 2023, a public hearing as required by Section 147(f) of the Internal Revenue Code of 1986, as amended (the “Code”) will be held with respect to the proposed issuance by the National Finance Authority (the “Authority”) of qualified 501(c)(3) bonds, as defined in Section 145 of the Code, in one or more series in an amount not to exceed $300 million (the “Bonds”) for hospital facilities and/or other healthcare facilities, a portion of which are located in Lake County, Ohio. The proceeds of the Bonds will be allocated and used to (1) finance and/or refinance the acquisition, construction, improvement, and equipping of hospital facilities and/or other health care facilities located generally at (i) UH Cleveland Medical Center campus, 11100 Euclid Avenue, Cleveland, Ohio (in amounts not to exceed $160 million), (ii) UH Ahuja Medical Center campus, 3999 Richmond Road, Beachwood, Ohio (in amounts not to exceed $52 million), (iii) UH Lake West Medical Center campus, 36000 Euclid Avenue, Willoughby, Ohio (in amounts not to exceed $112 million), (iv) UH TriPoint Medical Center campus, 7590 Auburn Road, Concord Township, Ohio (in amounts not to exceed $112 million), and (v) UH St. John Medical Center campus, 29000 Center Ridge Road, Westlake, Ohio (in amounts not to exceed $53 million); and (2) pay certain expenses incurred in connection with the issuance of the Bonds.
